Charlotte Marie Edwards was born in Huntingdon on December 17,1979. She grew up on a farm with her loving family: her brother David, her mum Yvonne and her father Clive. Charlotte started playing cricket with her brother and it grew from that she broke a world scoring record before her 18 birthday she played for many teams, Kent, Hampshire, Southern Vipers and even some teams in Australia. Edwards became the first woman to be appointed to the world cricket committee and she received several awards including winning the 2009 1cc women’s world Twenty20. Later (may 2016) she retired from international cricket and finally from all cricket (September 2017). I am sure you will agree that this incredible woman has had a successful career and is an inspirational figure to be proud of. IT
We have had an extremely busy Autumn Term 1 at Swan Lane! KS1 have been busy working on their Agility, Balance and Co-Ordination within their Multi Skills topics this term. We play lots of games and take part in challenges to help us develop these vital building blocks for physical activity. Human Buckaroo is always a big hit when we are practicing our Balancing skills. KS2 are working on Invasion Games. We look to develop ourselves as games players by learning about Possession, Passing, Positioning, Penetration and Space across a range of different Sports.
On Wednesday morning Swan Lane attended the Annual Quicksticks Hockey Tournament run by the School Games. We competed against 100's of children from across South Worcestershire in 4v4 hockey matches. We scored lots of goals, won lots of games and most importantly had loads of fun!!!
